Greta Van Fleet have officially announced their fourth studio album, Palace of the People, marking a significant return for the Michigan rockers. The announcement comes alongside the release of their latest single, “Saw You Stand,” which serves as a powerful introduction to their upcoming project.
The band’s trajectory has been a subject of intense speculation over the last few months. Fans were initially concerned when the group posted a cryptic video on social media, sparking rumors of a potential breakup. However, those fears were quickly put to rest when the band shared a teaser for “Play Your Games,” the first single from this new era, confirming that the quartet remains as committed as ever to their craft.
Palace of the People is slated for an October 9 release. While the full track listing remains under wraps, the band has shared the album’s artwork, signaling a cohesive new vision. Guitarist Jake Kiszka describes the project as a “very modern record” that maintains the band’s core rock and roll identity.
The sentiment is echoed by the rest of the band. “We love each other just as much as ever, if not more, because we’ve got to spend quality time together off of the road,” says singer Josh Kiszka. “We’ve grown closer, and we have more to say and share than ever.” Drummer Danny Wagner adds, “The minute the four of us step into a room with the shared goal of creating, there is very little that can stop us.”
Bassist and keyboardist Sam Kiszka provided insight into the inspiration behind the album’s title. “I can’t tell you how many people have come up to me and said, ‘This is my best friend. We met through your music or at your show,'” he explains. “And we realized, the music is our palace!”
