Morello and Grohl were both performing at the festival in Gdynia, Poland this week. While the former Rage Against the Machine guitarist was side-stage for the Foo Fighters set, Grohl walked up to him to play up close and personal.
Footage shows a delighted Morello throwing up the horns before the two embrace.
Recalling the moment in a post on Instagram, Morello shared the clip and wrote: “Wild time last night at @opener_festival in Poland rocking out hard with pals @maneskinofficial and Dave Grohl & @foofighters!

Morello also joined the Italian rockers on stage at the festival to perform their collab, ‘GOSSIP’.
Ahead of his appearance at Download Festival 2024 last month, he nodded to Måneskin once again, and was joined by their guitarist Thomas Ragg for an MC5 cover at his headline show in Camden’s Electric Ballroom.
While at the rock festival, Morello opened up to NME about his current solo ventures. “I’ve done a number of solo records before, but I love the idea of being in a band because what you get out of being in a band is chemistry,” he said.
“Together you create something that none of you could create alone. What you get out of being a solo artist is purity and being able to create something that no one else would be able to create.
“With making this record, I love the idea of steering it where I want it to go. It’s the same with the shows too… we want to curate an experience — not just riffs and guitar solos, but something that is a holistic presentation of rock and roll in its highest and bloodiest level.”
Meanwhile, Grohl was embarking on the final date of the Foo Fighters UK tour in June, and was joined by Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler for a rendition of ‘Paranoid’ in Birmingham.
Elsewhere, he was seen watching LCD Soundsystem play euphoric set at Glastonbury 2024, and earlier this month attended the Wimbledon tennis tournament.
