Coldplay‘s Chris Martin wrapped up their tour in Vienna last night (August 25) with yet another Taylor Swift cover.

Earlier this week, they were joined by Maggie Rogers, who has been opening for the band, and two fans for a cover of Swift’s ‘Love Story’ at the Ernst Happel Stadium in the wake of her ‘Eras’ tour concerts in the country being cancelled following a foiled terror plot.

In the following two further shows they also performed ‘Shake It Off’ before they wrapped up their five shows last night with ‘The 1’ from Swift’s 2020 album ‘Folklore’, alongside Rogers. You can view footage below.

Earlier this month, all three of Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ shows in Vienna were cancelled after it was revealed that two people had been arrested for allegedly plotting a terror attack during the gigs.

Swift recently commented on the Vienna show cancellations and foiled terror plot after her European tour wrapped. She said: “Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.”

The singer continued: “I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together. I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London. My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us. Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows.”

Elsewhere, Coldplay last week shared their new single ‘We Pray’, featuring Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna and Tin.

They previously released lead single ‘feelslikeimfallinginlove’ in June and also previewed another track ‘Good Feelings’ on stage in Rome last month.

Their new album ‘Moon Music’ is out on October 4 and can be pre-ordered here.
