Tom DeLonge Moved to Tears as San Diego Padres Crowd Sings Blink-182 Classic

Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge has performed “All the Small Things” countless times throughout his career, but he likely never experienced it quite like he did on Tuesday night. During a high-stakes San Diego Padres home playoff game against the Milwaukee Brewers, the pop-punk anthem echoed through the stadium, creating a surreal moment for the musician and lifelong Padres supporter.

Seated near the field, DeLonge was captured by FS1 cameras appearing visibly emotional as the crowd of over 43,000 fans sang the song in unison. The moment was not lost on the broadcast team, with announcer Adam Amin noting the significance of the scene. “What a cool moment here in San Diego,” Amin remarked. “Blink-182, especially for those of us of a certain age, we all know they have an extensive, very impressive catalog of late ’90s and 2000s pop-punk music. But to be in the ballpark when 43,000-plus are singing one of your biggest hits to you, I can’t imagine the feeling.”

Fellow announcer Adam Wainwright added, “That’s got to be like a musician’s world series right there.”

Once the cameras focused directly on him, DeLonge shook off the sentimentality and embraced the energy of the stadium. He joined in the revelry, singing along to the iconic “work sucks, I know” line, much to the delight of the surrounding fans. The rally song seemed to provide the perfect boost for the hometown team, as the Padres secured a 4-3 victory to narrow the series gap against the Brewers.

What’s Next for Blink-182?

Fans can look forward to a European tour leg that includes appearances at major festivals such as Rock for People, Rock Im Park, and Rock Am Ring.
