Oasis have confirmed that Cast will be joining them as the final support act for their 2025 UK and Ireland reunion tour.

The Liverpool indie band will open for Liam and Noel Gallagher at each date of next summer’s trek, which includes seven nights at London’s Wembley Stadium and five gigs at Manchester’s Heaton Park.

They will join the former Verve frontman and soloist Richard Ashcroft as the special guests for the gigs, with the latter being confirmed earlier this month.

The announcement that Cast will be supporting Oasis comes as the members have shared their fondness for the band throughout the years. Previously, Noel Gallagher has given the band the seal of approval and described  frontman John Power as being “as cosmic as the day is long.”

Liam Gallagher is a fan too, and enlisted the group to join him earlier this summer as part of his huge ‘Definitely Maybe’ anniversary tour dates.

“I’m blown away at the reunion. Oasis are the voice of a generation and the songs that they wrote and sung were and still are the soundtrack to many people’s dreams. They are the people’s band,” Power said in a new statement.

“I’ve known Noel and Liam all through the years, we go way back. It’s been some ride, some journey. I’ve felt and known their music personally, as a fan. It inspired me as a songwriter, it blew the whole scene open like nothing before and it reached way beyond the stratosphere. Everything changed. We were all part of that and we will all be part of this. I’m especially looking forward to revisiting my family’s Irish roots when the tour hits Dublin. Let the opening chords shimmer and shine next July.”

Liam’s fondness of John Power’s music stems back to before he even formed the band, with the Oasis frontman previously being a fan of Power’s earlier group, The La’s.

When Oasis reached new heights of fame with ‘Supersonic’, they brought Cast out on tour as support. This came at a point when the band became a fan of the demos which would ultimately become Cast’s debut album ‘All Change’.

Since then, Cast have joined Oasis as support for shows at Paris, Irving Beach, Loch Lomond, Knebworth and more.

While news of the support slot has only been confirmed today, the Liverpool band were one of the names most highly speculated when it came to supporting Oasis on the comeback tour.

Earlier this month, Liam also shared a cryptic teaser with his followers on X/Twitter, when he said that it would be either Ashcroft or Manic Street Preachers supporting Oasis in 2025. “All we need now is to be CAST away on our jolly travels,” he wrote in one section of the update.

Oasis have confirmed that their 2025 UK and Ireland dates will be the only European shows of their reunion world tour. They later told fans that plans were “underway” for further performances around the globe.

They have since announced concerts in the US, Canada, Mexico and Australia. A third and final gig in Melbourne was added to the latter schedule recently due to “phenomenal demand”.

NME exclusively revealed that Oasis would be playing in Sydney and Melbourne in a report last month. The article also listed upcoming appearances in other international territories such as South Korea, Japan, Brazil, Chile and Argentina. These are expected to be officially announced soon.

Elsewhere, Oasis have ruled out a headline performance at Glastonbury 2025 and said they would not be appearing at any other festivals next year. Liam and Noel have shot down rumours of a return to Knebworth in 2026 too.

In other news, Liam said that he and Noel have no plans to do any joint interviews around the long-awaited comeback. “We’re scared of the media asking us intrusive questions and trying to pick holes in our relationship,” he reasoned.

More recently, the singer has become one of the faces of Berghaus’ new jacket line,  ‘ICONS’, and addressed fans who are unhappy with the band not booking younger bands for support slots.
