For years, Liam Gallagher made his feelings regarding the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame abundantly clear. Following the band’s initial nomination in 2024, the former Oasis frontman took to social media to dismiss the institution, famously tweeting, “F*ck the Rock n Roll hall of fame,” and adding that he had no interest in receiving an award from “some geriatric in a cowboy hat.” When the band received a second nomination in 2025, his stance remained unchanged, with Gallagher declaring the organization was “for WANKERS.”
However, the narrative shifted dramatically this week. Following the announcement that Oasis has officially been voted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the 2026 class—joining an eclectic group of inductees including Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan—Gallagher’s tone has softened significantly.

“I wanna thank all the people who voted for us it’s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I’d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it’s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream LG x.”
When pressed by fans about his sudden change in perspective, Gallagher offered a candid explanation, citing a conversation with his mother. “Well I was speaking to my mummy last night when the news broke and she thinks I may have been a little hasty with my perception of the organization,” he shared. “She’s told me to stop being a dick and go to the awards and behave and you never know you might enjoy it.”
When one user pointed out his previous insults toward the institution, Gallagher simply replied, “It was until last night.” The induction ceremony is currently scheduled for November 14, with a broadcast set to air on ABC and Disney+ in December.
