Dayton, Ohio emcee Lee Carver is back with a brand new extended play, A Night 2 Dismember. Following his 2015 solo debut Massacre Mask, Carver solidified his place in the underground scene as the third and final member of the formidable group Alla Xul Elu. Known for their signature blend of sharp horrorcore lyricism, boom-bap foundations, and industrial hip-hop textures, the group has been a force to be reckoned with since 2018. Carver’s latest project serves as a direct follow-up to his winter release, Meathead: Satanic Steakhouse, providing further context to the project’s titular character.
The EP kicks off with the “New Release” intro, leading into “The House Demands a Host,” which welcomes listeners back into a dark, boom-bap-driven soundscape. The project maintains a consistent, unsettling atmosphere; “Serrated” highlights Carver’s visceral disdain for humanity, while “Mr. Meathook” adopts a quirkier, more rhythmic approach to describe a character who treats commands as absolute law. The track “Bump in the Night,” featuring Mutanoid Underground Dwellers, serves as an anthem for the outcasts and the “sickos” who operate outside the mainstream.
The second half of the EP, beginning with “Rotting Flesh Rewind,” leans heavily into bloodcurdling imagery and morbid storytelling. Tracks like “Blood Shed” utilize a slower, more deliberate instrumental pace, allowing Carver to focus on his gruesome narrative style. The project concludes with “Corpse Funnel” and the “Satanic Steakhouse Theme” outro, which successfully bridge the gap between traditional boom-bap percussion and the intense, horror-focused lyricism that has become Carver’s trademark.
As the underground community prepares for the 26th annual Gathering of the Juggalos, where Alla Xul Elu is scheduled for a medley set, A Night 2 Dismember arrives at the perfect time. Carver has managed to flesh out the story of the Meathead character, offering fans a deeper look into the dark world introduced six months ago. With solid production and well-placed guest features, the EP is a compelling addition to his growing discography.
