LE SSERAFIM caught up with NME backstage at this weekend’s MTV EMAs 2024, where the K-pop sensations spoke about teaming up with PinkPantheress and returning to the UK for live shows next year. Watch the interview below.

The band were speaking to NME on the red carpet of the Manchester ceremony on Sunday (November 10), shortly before their explosive performance of ‘Chasing Light’ and ‘Crazy‘, and before picking up the award for ‘Best Push‘. Huh Yunjin from the band told us about their “amazing” year.

“We had so many experiences, and to be here tonight is absolutely going to be the highlight,” she said. “It’s the first time in Manchester for us, and it’s so crazy.”

One of their biggest moments of 2024 came when the band teamed up with PinkPantheress for their huge collab ‘Crazy‘.

“I had the absolute honour of meeting her back at Hybe in Korea,” Yunjin told NME of how the team-up came about. “We made a good connection and she was thrilled to be on the track with us; it was absolutely incredible.

“She was so fun. We talked a lot about how we started out careers. She’s so sweet and I love her.”

She continued: “I would say for our collaborations, we just love to have a variety of different artists. We love seeing how they interpret our music and our message.”

While admitting that the EMAs looked set to be the band’s highlight of the year – particularly due to the ceremony falling on Hong Eunchae’s birthday – they were also excited for 2025. Quizzed about plans for the year ahead, the band also teased that they’d “maybe be coming back to the UK”.

Aside from LE SSERAFIM, BLACKPINK’s Lisa went away with the most wins for a K-pop act with awards for Best Collaboration for her single ‘New Woman’ with Rosalía, as well as Biggest Fans. BTS singer Jimin also won this year’s award for Best K-pop.

The girl group made a comeback in August with ‘Crazy’ six months after releasing their third mini-album ‘Easy’ this February. The recent record notably includes the B-side ‘1800-hot-n-fun’, which they debuted at Coachella earlier this year.
