The song’s release precedes a UK headlining tour in February, and an appearance at SXSW 2020.

Lauran Hibberd's 2020 is starting off with quite a "bang."

Today (Jan. 16), the British indie rock singer/songwriter premieres new single "Bang Bang Bang" exclusively with Billboard.

The bubbly new song, which contains threads of fellow rockers the Regrettes (for whom Hibberd opened shows last year), is a firecracker of a track at two minutes and 22 seconds long, finding Hibberd dispensing saccharine vocals over crunchy guitar and synths.

“'Bang Bang Bang' is my favorite song of mine of date, and after writing songs about wanting a sugar daddy and being a hoochie, I feel like this has to be a great achievement," Hibberd tells Billboard. "It's my 'Crash' by the Primitives, my ode to the '90s teenager and the soundtrack to every mistake I've ever made and how I can laugh at that now. Shout out to Brian Jonestown Massacre for heavily influencing the second verse.”

After a brief five-date headlining tour in the UK next month, Hibberd is traveling Stateside for South By Southwest in Austin, Texas, whose music portion runs March 16-22.

"Bang Bang Bang" is Hibberd's first taste of new music in the new decade, following last year's four-song EP Everything Is Dogs and additional single "Sweat Patch."
