Grimes has appeared to address Elon Musk by agreeing with Olivia Rodrigo‘s recent comments about men who want to go into space.

In a recent Q&A to promote her new Netflix concert film, Guts World Tour, Rodrigo revealed her “biggest red flag” when it comes to her dating life.

“This is a very oddly specific question that I ask guys on first dates; I always ask them if they think that they would want to go to space,” she said in the video. “And if they say yes, I don’t date them.”

Rodrigo continued: “I just think if you wanna go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself. I think it’s just weird.”

Last Sunday (November 3), Grimes shared her thoughts on the singer’s comments by replying to a post on X/Twitter.

“It’s true,” she wrote. “Only women should be going to space.”

Many of Grimes’ fans perceived the tweet to be a criticism of her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk, with whom she shares three children.

The X/Twitter owner and Tesla CEO also founded the space technology company SpaceX, and he has previously talked openly about his love for and wish to travel into space in the future.

In September, Musk – who is the world’s richest person – said that “the first crewed flights to Mars will be in four years”.

“Flight rate will grow exponentially from there, with the goal of building a self-sustaining city in about 20 years,” he continued in a post on X/Twitter. “Being multiplanetary will vastly increase the probable lifespan of consciousness, as we will no longer have all our eggs, literally and metabolically, on one planet.”

Earlier this year, a new book claimed that Musk took a baby name he had chosen with Grimes, and instead gave it to a secret child he had with tech executive Shivon Zilis.

In September 2022, Grimes shared words that read like lyrics for a song. It was later claimed that these had been written after the ‘Miss Anthropocene’ artist learned “about the name essentially being stolen from her”.

Over the summer, Grimes’ mother Sandy Garossino pleaded with Musk to let her 93-year-old mother see her great-grandchildren “one last time” while she was in “end-of-life palliative care”.

“Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met,” she wrote on X/Twitter. “She was thrilled for the kids’ planned visit to celebrate her birthday this weekend. Today. But those hopes were crushed when the trip was cancelled.”

Garossino continued: “I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire [Boucher, Grimes’ real name].”

Boucher’s mother then asked Musk the whereabouts of the “other children” who were not with the Canadian artist, adding: “They are scheduled to be with their mother. They were expected here in Canada.”

Last year, it was reported that Grimes was suing Musk over custody rights to their youngest child, Techno Mechanicus.

Back in 2021, Grimes joked about building a “lesbian space commune” following her split from Musk.
