BLACKPINK‘s Lisa debuted her new song ‘Moonlit Floor’ live at Global Citizen Festival 2024, and it includes an interpolation of Sixpence None the Richer‘s ‘Kiss Me’. Check it out below.

The K-pop star gave fans a first taste of the song on Wednesday (September 25), when she shared a short TikTok clip of her singing Sixpence None the Richer’s seminal 1997 hit, updated with an accompanying dance-pop backing track.

Fans initially thought she was teasing a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, who recently covered the track during a stop on her ‘Short N’ Sweet’ headlining tour.

But during her co-headline performance at Global Citizen Festival last night (September 28), she performed the track for the first time, and it didn’t feature Carpenter.

Lisa interpolates the classic hit, tweaking the lyrics to “Kiss me, under the Paris twilight / Kiss me out on the moonlit floor,” from the original “Kiss me beneath the milky twilight/ Lead me out on the moonlit floor,” to fit with the new song’s story about a “green-eyed French boy”.

In other news, Lisa is set to take the stage at this year’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show, following a six-year hiatus for the formerly annual event. Other performers include music icon Cher and South African singer Tyla.

The K-pop star released two solo singles this year, ‘Rockstar’ and the Rosalía-assisted ‘New Woman’. The songs come three years after she made her solo debut with ‘Lalisa’ in 2021.

She’s also set to make her small-screen debut in the upcoming third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, which will be set in her home country of Thailand. “I feel like people are going to fall in love with Thailand even more,” she teased in an interview earlier this year.
