Billie Eilish is apparently learning to “do home production without” Finneas.

The brother and sister have worked together since the start of their careers, with Finneas having produced all three of her albums: 2019 debut ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?‘, 2021’s ‘Happier Than Ever‘ and her most recent release, this year’s ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft‘.

However, in an interview with Guitar.com, Finneas revealed he has given her a “basic” kit so she can learn how to produce music herself.

“I’ve been setting up Billie’s recording studio for her so she can do home production without me, because she’s very good at it!”, he told Guitar.com.

“And it’s funny, I’ve been giving her, like, the bare minimum of stuff, just so that she learns it all. I’m like, ‘Listen, I could give you all the stuff that I use now, but it took me years to even have a use for it. And, if I give you this basic thing, it’ll make sense to you right away.’”

NME reviewed ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ when it dropped in May, writing: “Billie came into this process with aspirations to find herself, creatively and personally: ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ remains distinctly unique, a portrait of a singular talent entering young adulthood, exploring her queerness and experiencing the emotional thrill and (sometimes) catastrophe of chasing passion or falling in love.

“In trying to write an album for herself, she’s made one that will resonate harder than anything she’s done before.”

Eilish has previously opened up about how she and Finneas have “never ever ever loved something more” than her latest record, adding: “we hope you enjoy it so much and i’ll see you on the other side”.

She is days away from touring the record in a giant world tour, with the first date kicking off on September 29 in Quebec. Visit here to purchase US tickets, here for UK tickets, here for European tickets and here for Australian tickets – see all dates below:
