When the distinctive Detroit emcee Bruiser Wolf and the boom-bap producer Conductor Williams team up, you know exactly what you’re going to get. Their new single, “Ain’t Got Time,” supplies that signature chemistry in abundance. Built over an understated soul loop that evokes the atmosphere of a smoky, late-night room, the track serves as a masterclass in minimalist production and eccentric delivery.
Bruiser Wolf applies his trademark cartoonish enunciation to a subject worthy of legendary inspiration Too $hort: he has money, not time, and he is entirely indifferent to your affection—he is simply looking for a physical connection. It is a concise, high-impact effort that clocks in at under two minutes, leaving just enough room for the listener to process the wit before the track concludes.
