Exploring the Haunted Halls
The investigation begins in the prison’s “toilet room,” a decaying, atmospheric space filled with abandoned commodes and remnants of the facility’s past. Weidman introduces the team to the spirit box, a device designed to capture spiritual interference via radio waves. While the technology might be intimidating to some, Olson is no stranger to the paranormal. He reveals that he has frequently utilized similar devices during his own investigations, noting that spirits often seem to intentionally steer conversations away from direct questions.
As the team delves deeper, they capture several unsettling phrases, including “relationship,” “stay in the next room,” and “Oh, they’re coming.” For Mauro, an admitted skeptic, the experience proves to be genuinely unnerving. Olson shares that his own fascination with the supernatural stems from a childhood encounter, where he claims to have seen a young boy in his room at age seven or eight.

The Ohio State Reformatory, which operated from 1896 through 1990, is a site steeped in history and lore. Beyond its reputation for hauntings, the prison is famously recognized for its appearance in the classic film The Shawshank Redemption.
