DragonForce has officially announced their tenth studio album, a self-titled release, marking a significant new chapter for the power metal icons. The upcoming record, scheduled for a March 19 release, serves as the debut studio effort featuring the band’s new co-vocalist Alessio Garavello and the powerhouse addition of Alissa White-Gluz. The band has also bolstered their lineup with the arrival of rhythm guitarist Billy Wilkins.
The announcement arrives alongside the release of the band’s latest single, “Hunger of the Beast,” which is accompanied by a high-energy live performance video. This new material showcases a refined, aggressive sound that the band has been crafting in the studio with producer Jens Bogren.
A New Era for DragonForce
Guitarist Herman Li reflected on the significance of this milestone, noting, “The approach of the tenth album is as important as the first one. We always try to use everything we’ve learned from our years of experience and put that into the new music.” Li emphasized that the band is prioritizing artistic integrity over commercial trends, aiming to elevate their musicianship to unprecedented levels.
Alissa White-Gluz, widely recognized for her decade-long tenure with Arch Enemy, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration. “I have loved the entire process of making music with DragonForce. It’s great to connect with such elite musicians and work together to really bring out the best of our respective styles,” she stated.
Touring and Future Plans
Beyond the new album, DragonForce is preparing for a busy season. The band is set to embark on a North American tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal album, Inhuman Rampage. The trek kicks off on November 13 in San Diego and concludes on December 13 in Los Angeles, offering fans a chance to experience both classic tracks and a glimpse into the band’s evolving sound.
