Now, the final headliner has been shared, with The Wombats being confirmed to take to the stage on Friday August 29. It comes after the band released their highly-anticipated new album ‘Oh! The Ocean’.

Artists set to support The Wombats have also been shared, with fellow Liverpool artist Jamie Webster set to open for the indie band, along with Circa Waves.

Irish rock band Somebody’s Child have also been added to the list – following their support slots with The War On Drugs and Bloc Party – as have Arthur Hill, The Rosadocs, Freddie Halkon, Bethany Grace, Deco, Nell Mescal and Crystal Tides.

“With The Wombats headlining Friday, we’ve now completed our most exciting Rock N Roll Circus line-up yet,” said Ali O’Reilly, Festival Director. “This festival is about more than just the music – it’s an entire experience, combining world-class performances with incredible food, immersive circus entertainment, and a truly unique atmosphere. We can’t wait for fans to join us this summer!”

The new show in Sheffield follows news last week that The Wombats would be joining Razorlight for huge outdoor co-headline shows across the UK. Before them they had been added to the line-up for BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend 2025, alongside Biffy Clyro, Tom Grennan and more.

They will also be performing at Mad Cool in Madrid this summer. Visit here for all upcoming tour dates and tickets.

The new record was helmed by St Vincent and Death Cab For Cutie producer John Congleton and inspired by a revelatory experience that frontman Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy had on a beach during a family holiday this summer.

In an interview, he told NME: “I’d had a particularly funky morning and didn’t sleep well. I took my family down to the beach around Orange County way, the kids were off playing and I was just stood there looking at the ocean. It was a very mushroomy experience.

“I saw the ocean and the waves and everything as if for the first time. It was like I was an alien, I’d come from a different planet and I was put on a beach and someone took my blindfold off and showed me the ocean. I was like, ‘What the fuck is that? How did it get there?’ It was the most awestruck I’ve ever been, really.”
