Maria Usbeck Announces New EP ‘Canciones De Amor’, Shares Lead Single ‘Luz’

Following a six-year hiatus, the Ecuadorian-born, Brooklyn-based dream-pop artist Maria Usbeck made a triumphant return to the music scene last year with her acclaimed album Naturaleza. Building on that momentum, Usbeck has officially announced her latest project, a new EP titled Canciones De Amor. The upcoming collection features a collaborative spirit, with Usbeck working alongside a team of musicians that includes Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum.

To celebrate the announcement, Usbeck has shared the EP’s opening track, “Luz.” The song serves as a perfect introduction to the project, blending mellow, floaty jazz sensibilities with lush, high-fidelity synthpop textures. It is a sparkling, atmospheric number that highlights Usbeck’s continued evolution as a songwriter.

The tracklist for the upcoming EP is as follows:

  • 01 “Luz”
  • 02 “Chirimoya”
  • 03 “Lágrimas Lágrimas”
  • 04 “Crushin’”
  • 05 “Always Raining”

Canciones De Amor is scheduled for release on September 18 via Cascine.
