Jamie xx was recently joined by Robyn for a live rendition of their track ‘Life’. Check it out below.
The moment took place at the DJ, producer and member of The xx‘s Copenhagen show on Thursday (March 13), as part of his huge ‘In Waves’ world tour.
‘Life’ is the pair’s song from Jamie’s second solo album ‘In Waves’, released last year. It’s their first recorded collaboration but, prior to that in 2017, the Swedish pop artist joined The xx on stage at the O2 Academy Brixton in London to perform her hit ‘With Every Heartbeat’ with the trio.
In a video shared following the gig, Robyn is seen walking onto the stage to surprise the audience as the song begins to play. Check it out below.
NME gave ‘In Waves’ a four-star review, calling the album: “An even more melancholic record than its predecessor – and a less immediately exciting one, too. But it’s arguably a more complex beast, born of a complex era yet authored by a musician with one eye on the simple, timeless pleasures of the club. With ‘In Waves’, almost a decade on from the triumph of ‘In Colour’, Jamie xx remains in bloom.”
In other news, earlier this week The xx were pictured in the studio working on new music, as all three members – Jamie xx, Romy and Oliver Sim – confirmed they had been working together again.

Last summer, Jamie xx gave the last major update and said they were working on a new album and are “having a good time” while doing so. It will mark the long-awaited follow-up to their 2017 album ‘I See You’.
After being asked about what it is like to be reunited and work again with his fellow bandmates since they have all embarked on solo paths, he said at the time: “Yes, it is like The Avengers! We’ve said it ourselves.
“It’s always so nice to get back together with them. I mean, they came on stage with me at Glastonbury as well, and I couldn’t stop smiling. I was aware that I was on TV, but I just felt like such a dork.”
The last time they all teamed up was on the DJ and producer’s 2024 single ‘Waited All Night’ from his album ‘In Waves’.
Previously speaking to NME on the red carpet at the 2024 BRIT Awards about The xx’s new music that’s in the works, Romy also shared: “We’re just keeping it really open and we’re up for trying new things, but it sounds like us. That’s all I can say right now.
