Various figures from the entertainment world have voiced their fears over Donald Trump‘s stance on women’s rights following his victory in the 2024 presidential election.
The Republican nominee and former POTUS has earned 279 electoral college votes, beating out Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’ 223 electoral college votes, securing his return to the White House (via BBC News).
Trump’s win will make him the first ex-President to go back to the role in more than 130 years and saw him make history as the oldest man elected to America’s highest office at the age of 78.
Now, many figures of the entertainment industry have spoken out about their fears and concerns over female and reproductive rights following Trump’s victory. Unkline Harris – whose been an outspoken leader and advocate for reproductive freedom – Trump celebrated the overturning of Roe v Wade which ended the constitutional right to abortion and allowed states to completely ban or severely restrict abortion access.
Billie Eilish took to her Instagram stories to share her view on the re-elected 47th president. “It’s a war on women” she wrote. The ‘Birds Of A Feather’ previously shared her endorsement for Harris in an Instagram post of one of her recent shows where she told the crowd: “Times are really scary and a lot is at stake and I know that if you’re in this room and you support me, you support women and I hope that you will vote for Kamala Harris.”
The caption of the post read: “Don’t let anyone tell you your voice and your vote don’t matter!! VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS.”

Actor and comedian Christina Applegate also shared her fears in an X/Twitter post and wrote: “Why? Give me your reasons why????? My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away. Why? And if you disagree, please unfollow me.”
Lambrini Girls also took a minute to discuss Trump’s victory and wrote: “GM. We are all totally fucked. The fact that society would rather a r*pist run one of the worlds superpowers opposed to a woman- is testament to that in itself. Fascism is here and it’s crucial to engage politically, now more than ever. Where’s Guy Fawkes when you need him.”
The ‘God’s Country’ singers also shared an Instagram post sharing: “Fascism wins every time in America. Neither party is standing up for us. If that be in the US or here in the UK. We are far from immune from the ramifications of this.”
