The ’90s alt-pop legend Sheryl Crow is not slowing down anytime soon. Crow released her last album Evolution in 2024, shortly after she was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Since then, she has remained prolific, releasing the protest song “The New Normal,” co-producing Stevie Nicks’ comeback single “The Lighthouse,” and participating in various high-profile benefit performances. Now, she has announced her next project, Pick You Up, which is set for release this fall.
Crow’s upcoming LP, Pick You Up, is a concise seven-song collection. While the track count is lean, the project promises a focused artistic statement, with all seven songs co-written alongside her longtime collaborator Jeff Trott. The lead single, “Freedom Bus,” serves as the album’s closing track and features a duet with Arkansas-based folk singer-songwriter Jesse Welles.
“Freedom Bus” is an idealistic, rambling track centered on themes of mutual acceptance and unity. You can listen to the new single below:
