Pantera's 'Walk' Gets a Must-See Cover by 9-Year-Old Rocker

It’s time to rock! On Wednesday, O’Keefe Music Foundation released a video of a teenage rock band fronted by a 9-year-old performing a hard-rocking cover of Pantera‘s “Walk,” and it’s simply must-see.

In the clip, the young boy — named Colt Shedden — bangs his head along with the crowd as he delivers a rollicking take on the heavy-metal veterans’ 1993 single live from Westy’s Pub in Cincinnati, Ohio. “Is there no standard anymore?/ What it takes, who I am, where I’ve been belong/ You can’t be something you’re not/ Be yourself, by yourself, stay away from me/ A lesson learned in life/ Known from the dawn of time,” the elementary schooler wails before launching into the track’s punchy, chant-able chorus.

The video is just the latest example of O’Keefe’s ongoing mission to highlight young rock talent by producing free music videos and recording sessions for local youth. Past cover videos released by the Ohio-based nonprofit include Pantera’s 1996 single “Drag the Waters” (off The Great Southern Trendkill) and Slipknot‘s “The Devil in I.”
