Eric Hutchinson has unveiled his new single "Rock Out Tonight," premiering on Wednesday (Feb. 5) exclusively via Billboard.

In the peppy, guitar-fueled track, the singer-songwriter revisits his glory days as a teenager stuck in '90s suburbia. "If you wanna rock out tonight/ I can pick you up in my Ford Taurus/ We'll stay out until at least midnight/ Or until they set a curfew for us," he croons on the tongue-in-cheek opening stanza.

"This song definitely defines my teenage years — I was full of angst, wanting so badly to be rebellious, but having no idea whatsoever how to be dangerous," Hutchinson tells Billboard. "I got a used 1990 Ford Taurus from my uncle and it loomed large for me in my memories of being a teenager, so I knew that car would have to make an appearance in a song."

The nostalgic track will serve as the lead single for Hutchinson's upcoming album, Class of 98, due April 17. An accompanying video, full of home video footage of the singer judging by the teaser he shared with Billboard, is expected to drop soon.

Inspired by music of the era such as Oasis, Green Day and Weezer, the indie artist calls his upcoming eighth album "a chance for me to get into my time machine and go back to my high school days to have a look around." Class of 98 is set to be released April 17 via Let's Break Records.
