Diddy‘s former head of security Roger Bonds has said he saw the rap mogul be violent with women, including ex-partners Cassie Ventura and Kim Porter.
Last week, newly released CCTV footage from 2016 showed Diddy – real name Sean Combs – punching, kicking and dragging Cassie Ventura through a hotel hallway. Combs shared an apology video online after the video went viral, saying his actions were “inexcusable”.
Now, Bonds has been interviewed by Piers Morgan to discuss his decade-plus tenure with the Bad Boy Records founder.
“It didn’t surprise me when I saw it because I’ve seen things of this nature before,” Bonds said about the CCTV footage. “I have gotten in between things of this nature before – and this was back in 2012. There comes a time where you can’t say what you want to say and think everyone’s gonna accept it.”
He continued: “It’s a deeper anger when you’re punching on a woman in that manner. I think it’s understood if you had a problem with one woman, but if you have a problem with every woman that you’re dealing with, I think that problem is inside of you.”
Referring to Diddy’s apology video, Bonds said: “My reaction was he never mentioned Cassie’s name in that apology so, to me, he never humbled himself enough. I think he said what people wanted to hear and not what needed to be said. If this [were] a one-time incident, I’d say, ‘Accept his apology.’”
Elsewhere, Bonds called Diddy “a king manipulator” who is all about “money and power”.
He added: “I think it’s a god syndrome. The same way he always paid his way out of things. When you get through life paying your way out, I feel like he is not sorry. He is only sorry because he got caught.”
During the conversation, the bodyguard also revealed that he saw Diddy be violent with Ventura and Porter “around four, five times”.
“I’ve seen him get really physical,” he added. “I’ve seen him grab them up. I had seen some wrestling and punching matches.”
Bonds said that Porter – the mother to three of Diddy’s children, who died in November 2018 – realised the “power” she had. “She told him, ‘I wanna see you explain to the media that scratch I’m a put ‘cross your face if you put your hands on me again’,” he said. “She realised what he had to explain meant more to him than anything.”
Diddy has yet to respond to the claims Bonds made. Watch the full interview below.
Last November, Ventura filed a lawsuit against Diddy for physical and sexual abuse. The two settled the lawsuit “to mutual satisfaction” a day after the case was filed, according to a release sent by attorney Douglas Wigdor, who represented Ventura.
Bonds corroborated a claim in Cassie’s lawsuit that alleged she fled to The London Hotel in January 2009 after Diddy assaulted her outside of a “black-tie event” in her November lawsuit, saying he was the one “checking on her every day”.
A week later, two new allegations were made against Diddy; one claimed Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her and the other alleged that Combs and singer-songwriter Aaron Hall took turns raping the plaintiff and her friend in 1990 or 1991 – adding that Diddy turned violent days later. Diddy went online to deny all allegations against him, but Hall hasn’t replied to the accusations.
Earlier this year, producer Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones sued Combs alleging he sexually assaulted him, had parties where sex workers and underage girls were present, and coerced him to sleep with prostitutes. Diddy replied, saying Jones’ claims were “pure fiction”.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs continues to deny any wrongdoing.
Back in March, Diddy’s homes in Miami and LA were raided by US Homeland Security regarding a multi-state sex trafficking investigation. At the time, a representative for Combs said the “unprecedented ambush” was an “excessive show of force and hostility”. They added, “Mr Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”
