Death Lens Share New Song “Waiting To Know” Featuring Militarie Gun’s Ian Shelton

It is a productive day for the California punk scene. Following the release of Ceremony’s first new track in four years, Death Lens has joined forces with Militarie Gun’s Ian Shelton for a compelling new single titled “Waiting To Know.”

The track serves as a preview for the Los Angeles band’s upcoming album, What’s Left Now?, which has already been teased by previous singles including “Power,” “Monolith,” “Drown,” and “Debt Collector.” Discussing the inspiration behind the track, frontman Bryan Torres noted that the song explores the tension between aging and the persistent uncertainty of life.

“Waiting to Know” sits somewhere between growing older and not knowing if you ever really do. It’s fear and acceptance sharing the same skin, looping the same question until it stops sounding like a question at all. What’s next? My biggest fear: The unknown. It’s about spending your whole life waiting to know, waiting to go, like the answer is always just out of reach but already written somewhere you can’t read yet.

For those who appreciate the sound of Militarie Gun, this collaboration offers a similarly infectious energy. The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Joél Verges, which can be viewed below.

What’s Left Now? is scheduled for release on April 24 via Epitaph.
