The indie-folk band last performed in 2011.

A big year for Bright Eyes diehards keeps getting bigger: after announcing its reunion, plans for new music, and a handful of dates last month, the Conor Oberst-led band has announced a full-fledged return tour.

Announced this morning (Feb. 18), the 2020 trek will take Bright Eyes across much of the United States and Europe after kicking off March 23 in Japan. The U.S. leg begins May 24 in Spokane, Wash. and wraps June 20 at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York.

In between, the band has three dates at the Hollywood Palladium and numerous shows in the Northwest and Northeast. Lavender Diamond and Lucy Dacus have been confirmed as openers for select dates.

While there's no mention of numerous key markets like Bright Eyes' hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, they have nothing booked between May 24 and June 12, so additional shows are a possibility.

The European leg opens Aug. 14 in Oslo, Norway and wraps Sept. 6 at End of the Road Festival in Salisbury, England.

Tickets go on sale Friday (Feb. 21) at 12:00 pm ET.

And that brings us to the new music. Bright Eyes figures to release a new project on its recently-announced label home Dead Oceans, but nothing has been announced yet. The band's last album was 2011's The People's Key, released on Saddle Creek — their longtime label prior to the reunion.
