Last year, as part of Billboard's Black History Month celebration, we asked Black artists spanning all genres to compile unique playlists exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. Everyone from Normani and Khalid to DJ Premier and Rapsody shared tracks that represented their love for the culture across the diaspora — from childhood favorites to songs that make them feel free. Today, Cee Lo Green and producer Salaam Remi kickoff our 2020 edition with their motivational playlist

"Ceelo and I chose these songs based on music we grew up on," says Remi. "I don't pick a month to be Black in America. This playlist is only a fraction. These are songs that we grew up on that helped us keep our heads up and maintain to this day."

On Friday (Jan. 31), Green and Remi released their new single "Say It Loud – Everybody Black Re-Flip." The funkadelic record serves as an ode to James Brown's legendary 1968 track "Say It Loud I'm Black, and I'm Proud." Their untitled EP will release later this month.
