The electronic music landscape has been treated to a compelling exchange between two distinct creative forces. “Expression On Your Face,” the high-energy collaboration featuring Bladee, Ecco2k, and Mechatok, was widely regarded as one of the standout tracks of last year. Now, the synergy between these artists continues as Robyn has shared her own remix of the track, while the German DJ has returned the favor by putting his unique spin on her classic hit, “Fembot.”
“Fembot” originally appeared on Robyn’s seminal 2010 album Body Talk. For the new rendition of “Expression On Your Face,” Robyn contributes a fresh verse, a performance she has been showcasing live during her ongoing Sexistential Tour. The collaboration is a natural progression of their working relationship, as Mechatok previously served as an opening act for the pop veteran during her shows in Berlin. Beyond their musical output, Robyn has also been active in the cultural conversation, recently engaging in a deep-dive discussion with fellow Swedish pop star Zara Larsson for Rolling Stone.
