A year ago this week, Wednesday released Bleeds, an incendiary album that continued their yearslong hot streak and ranks among 2025’s masterpieces. To mark the one-year anniversary, the trendsetting North Carolina rockers are releasing a deluxe edition of the album this Friday, padded out with a collection of demos, remixes, and covers.
The deluxe version of Bleeds features a fresh batch of demos, including “June 2 (Early Version),” produced by Kenneth Blume, who also helmed the new Weezer album featuring Wednesday‘s Karly Hartzman. The expanded release also includes remixes by Avey Tare, DJ Sabrina The Teenage DJ, Fire-Toolz, and Andy Loebs, alongside covers of Wednesday songs by Gouge Away and Joe Harvey-Whyte.
Today, fans can hear “June 2 (Early Version).” The track begins on the prettier, lower-key side of the band’s signature sound before easing its way toward a distorted catharsis reminiscent of the Smashing Pumpkins. It concludes with classic Hartzman narration that leaves the listener feeling both hollow and electrified.
