There is nothing casual about these songs; they are crafted with an emotional weight that demands the listener’s full attention. Following the release of memorable, moving singles like “Manhattan” and “Draw Blood,” the project’s latest offering, “Sailor,” stands out as a true tearjerker.
Felix Walworth describes “Sailor” as a sad song that grapples with the complicated, existential question of whether or not we truly possess agency in our lives. In a post on Instagram, Walworth noted that the track is “short and sweet and upsetting,” a sentiment that proves to be entirely accurate upon listening. The acoustic ballad is anchored by devastatingly honest lyrics, with Walworth singing with a sense of resignation: “And I did not choose to leave you/ Even though I said goodbye/ And I do not choose to miss you/ But I will miss you for the rest of my life.”
