The Olivia Tremor Control Return with ‘Advice From The Oceans’

The legendary psych-pop outfit The Olivia Tremor Control has returned to the spotlight, continuing their highly anticipated comeback. Following the announcement of The Same Place—their first new studio album in 27 years—the band has unveiled their latest single, “Advice From The Oceans.” This track serves as a jaunty, surreal ode to the sea, further building excitement for their upcoming record.

“Advice From The Oceans” offers a glimpse into the band’s creative evolution. According to the group, the song was among the first pieces of music to emerge from their initial recording sessions back in 2010, marking the beginning of their long-awaited return to the studio. The track is a quick, hallucinatory journey, masterfully layered with violin, clarinet, and a variety of other instruments that coalesce into a surreal, dreamlike wave of sound.

This release follows the earlier previews of the title track “The Same Place” and “Garden Of Light,” both of which have been well-received by fans of the Elephant 6 collective. As the band prepares for the full release of The Same Place, which is scheduled to arrive on October 23 via the Elephant 6 Recording Company, “Advice From The Oceans” stands as a testament to their enduring, idiosyncratic sound.
