Death Valley Girls have been through a significant period of transformation since the release of their 2022 album, Islands In The Sky. The trippy Los Angeles-based band, led by singer and songwriter Bonnie Bloomgarden, has navigated immense personal challenges, including the loss of Bloomgarden’s Altadena home in the California wildfires and the passing of her beloved dog, Tommy. Despite these hardships, the band is making a triumphant return with the announcement of their new LP, Welcome To Earth. The lead single, “Message From The Venus Flower,” serves as a resilient anthem for the group’s next chapter.
In the wake of such destruction, Bloomgarden assembled a new lineup for Death Valley Girls. The band is now joined by drummer Bailey Chapman, guitarist Laena Myers, bassist Alana Amram, saxophonist Sarah Safaie, and the late keyboardist Gregg Foreman, who tragically passed away shortly after the recording sessions. Reflecting on the collaborative process, Bloomgarden noted, “I don’t think this record could have been made with any other group of people.”
