Today, Barbarian releases his new music video for his symbolic and meaningful song, “Insider.” A man of many talents, Barbarian is a composer, writer, producer, and director who was born in Algiers and raised in the suburbia of Paris.
With a solid contemporary methodology, his new music video is created with a nostalgic vibe. What genuinely separates him from others is the range of artistry he summons in his specialty, with a solid tendency for the ’80s and 90’s pop craftsmanship.
“Insider” is a visual poem that celebrates and marvel’s at the power of art and its impact on the values of our youth. The video invokes the spirit of times through paranoia and a fascination for the dark mechanisms of culture creation.
The Pop/Trap instrumental with tight drums and analog pads are at times intimate, at times anthemic singing that will invite listeners to reminisce Tears For Fears or Phil Collins.
In the music video, Barbarian uses a lot of metaphorical and cultural references to get his message across. Throughout the music video, Barbarian channels his own personal heritage and cultural experiences as an African descendant and being raised in Europe. From the technical point of view, you can call it a masterpiece because it exposes the detail-orientedness of Barbarian and exposes the highest quality of art. He focuses on the resolution and doesn’t pay attention to creating a mainstream colorful, poppy, and glittery video. He is honest to the core and eliminates color from the whole visual which emphasizes the emotional message he is trying to send to his listeners.
