Nation Of Language Share Unreleased Track “The Conversation”

Following their April release of a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Tougher Than The Rest,” the Brooklyn synthpop trio Nation Of Language has returned to share an unreleased track titled “The Conversation.” Originally recorded as a B-side, the song offers a rare glimpse into the band’s creative process and songwriting evolution.

Ian Richard Devaney, the band’s frontman, described the track as a long-standing personal favorite that never quite found its place on a full-length album. “‘The Conversation’ is a song that’s been haunting me for a few years now,” Devaney explained. “It’s extremely contained in the sense that when I write out the lyrics it reads more like a standalone poem than most of our songs, and it dabbles in storytelling in a much different way than I’m used to doing. It’s a vignette, centered around two people whose lives are so intertwined, and have been moving towards this one conversation, this inflection point, where the things that need to be said might finally be said.”

The band is currently preparing for an extensive tour schedule throughout the remainder of the year, with dates spanning Europe and North America. Fans can catch them at various festivals and venues, including appearances at Green Man Festival and Primavera Sound.
