Skinny Deville, Fish Scales and Buffalo Stille — better known as Nappy Roots — have delivered a lyric video for “Blind Faith,” a song that speaks directly to the current turmoil in America.
With production from 808 Blake and smooth vocals from blossoming singer Lando Ameen, the song finds the veteran Hip Hop group offering their soulful, southern perspective about perseverance as the country continues to protest and riot in the name of George Floyd.
Nappy Roots explained in a statement to GroovyTracks, “During these trying times of uncertainty our humanity and faith are being put to the test. ‘Blind Faith’ is a song in direct reflection of our willingness to overcome these obstacles. According to most, ‘Blind Faith’ means having complete confidence in someone, or something without any reason to do so.
“This is where the problem begins. While there are many solutions to a problem, we make an honest attempt and plea to listen to our inner selves to help find these answers. The world we live in is ever-changing and we must try our best to positively contribute to the human race.”
Nappy Roots’ forthcoming album 40RTY is expected to arrive on September 18.

What’s the end result…
If I get it how I live, what happens to my soul?
I can’t look back, or I’m a turn to salt…
Yesterday is in the past, today’s not my fault
I’m speaking to myself, thinking positive thoughts…
Stay focused on the dollar, keep my eye on the law…
I’m riding til the wheels fall, engine and all…
Wishing for a better day, I guess my timing is off…
Looking for a sign, I can tell that I’m lost…
Please Lord save my soul, like I’m nailed to the cross…
I can’t take it anymore, as I yell to the boss…
Motherfuck this 9 to 5, no matter the cost…
I’m a get it how I live, like I started this verse…
I know death is for certain, but not trying is worse…
Rent’s due on the 1st, and I already paid…
enough dues for a lifetime, sorry I’m late…
Hook (Lando Ameen)
I’m runnin’
I aint got faith anymore
don’t have no love any more
I have no patience…
I’m runnin’
and I can’t take it no more
my faith I’ve known for so long
tired of waitin’
I’m runnin’
(Fish Scales)
Like a quarterback sneak
Unexpectedly I creep
Live a life wit no peaks
Same life wit no grief
Take it all as it comes
No joy or pain just numb
Where Im from is way beyond
Face calm, As-Salaam
We won’t be here for long
We Prolong what’s to come
Ain’t No god over them hills right
Try telling that To them Israelites
Or A mother crying on the waiting floor
Whats your savior really waiting for?
What the hell he made Satan for
Pops ashamed I won’t say no more
Life is good if you living
Everybody save the children
Every cop should hate the killings
They say God’s good I say really
Waking up in a cold sweat
Every morning I’m like oh shit
Demons steady trying to push a nigga
Trying to make me lose my focus.
Hook
I’m runnin’
I aint got faith anymore
don’t have no love any more
I have no patience…
I’m runnin’
and I can’t take it no more
my faith Ive known for so long
tired of waitin’
I’m runnin’
(Buffalo Stille)
Jesus ain’t the only way, But for those who think that he’s the one
it’s better to have the faith, of a mustard seed than none
I thank God everyday, yahweh woke me up to see the sun
keep Him as yo Co-pilot, don’t let religion steer u wrong
Vocals on these ghetto Psalms
Hoping heaven hear my songs
Dope is meltin’ in my palms
I done blacked out several times
Choking in the devils arms
At best it’s Iffy,
50/50 yes it’s tricky
I’ll confess like reverend run
guess we’ll all find out at once,
When everything is Said n done
until then we juh havin fun
Sure sometimes we succumb
still more signs yet to come
We just blind def and dumb/ we must have sex to cum
goin nowhere fast, catch the run.
Hook
I’m runnin’
I aint got faith anymore
don’t have no love any more
I have no patience…
I’m runnin’
and I can’t take it no more
my faith ignored for so long
tired of waitin’
I’m runnin’
