Someone put their My Chemical Romance in my Metallica.
The My Chemical Romance reunion shows are on ice and Metallica are stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So there is no better time for an enterprising fan to Frankenstein together one of each bands’ most beloved songs into the ultimate mash-up. We’re calling this rager “Welcome to the Master of Puppets.”
The emo thrash neck-snapper opens with the spine-tingling piano and martial drums of MCR’s “Welcome to the Black Parade” under James Hetfield’s urgent “Master of Puppets” vocals and it just totally works. MCR’s majestic “Parade,” which tells the story of “The Patient” as part of a rock opera about confronting death, fits perfectly under the urgent lyrics to Metallica’s harrowing tale of drug destruction.
