Lil Wayne and plus-size model Denise Bidot took their romantic relationship public on Monday (June 15). In one of Bidot’s Instagram Stories, the 34-year-old Miami native shared a series of photos of herself cozying up to Wayne and wrote, “Somehow in the middle of the madness, something special happened. Us.”
His relationship with Bidot comes just two months after Wayne reportedly ended his engagement to 29-year-old La’Tecia Thomas, a makeup artist and plus-size model. Hours after the news broke, Thomas shared a sultry trio of Instagram photos supporting her own makeup line and appeared unfazed.
Wayne’s rumored (and not so rumored) dating history is quite extensive and ranges from R&B stars and rappers to WNBA players and models. Below is a comprehensive list of most of Wayne’s former flames (because lord knows we don’t have them all).
Toya Johnson (Carter)
Toya Johnson met the 13-year-old Wayne in New Orleans when she was 12. She became pregnant with their daughter Reginae Carter two years later at the tender age of 14. At this time, Wayne was already signed to Cash Money Records and decided to throw himself into his career in an effort to support his child.
Johnson and Wayne eventually married in 2004 but according to Heavy, Johnson couldn’t deal with his celebrity lifestyle.
“Wayne is the type who likes to have his cake and eat it, too,” she said. “So we were together, but that didn’t stop him from doing what he had to do and I wasn’t happy with that. A person can only take so much.”
They divorced in 2006 but remain good friends.
Christina Milian
After reportedly chasing Christina Milian for 15 years, Wayne started dating the singer-songwriter/actress in 2014, but the couple called it quits in 2015.
During their brief relationship, they performed together and collaborated on a handful of songs, including Milian’s 2015 single “Do It.”
Trina
Wayne was reportedly in an on-and-off relationship with fellow rapper Trina from 2005 to 2012. In a 2017 interview with Billboard, Trina opened up about their time together, saying, “Wayne is a very great person. Wayne never did anything wrong to me. The thing is, when I dated Wayne — which was so many years ago — we were just real young.
“Wayne was real young. I was real young. A part of it was, ‘I don’t even know what I’m doing, and I know you don’t know what you’re doing.”
Nivea
Wayne began dating singer Nivea in 2002. Only months into their courtship, Wayne proposed in December of that year. She relived the proposal in a 2003 interview with Sister To Sister magazine.
“Wayne said, ‘I got your Christmas present with me and you’re gonna love it. It’s gonna make you smile,’” she recalled. “He got down on his knee and he was like, ‘I know I’m young, but I’ve been through enough relationships to know and understand the meaning of what love is.’ He was just perfect. He told me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and he loved me. It was snot and tears at the same time.”
Nivea married The-Dream in December 2004 after she and Wayne called off the engagement. Their daughter Navy Talia Nash was born in May 2005, and their twin sons London and Christian arrived in 2006.
The couple divorced in 2007 and Nivea evidently tried to give it another go with Wayne. They ultimately had one child together, Neal Carter, who was born in November 2009. They officially gave up on the relationship in 2010. The-Dream’s 2007 song “Nikki” is allegedly about their strange love triangle.
Lauren London
Before she was inextricably connected to the late Nipsey Hussle, Lauren London dated Wayne periodically from 1998 to 2009. In September 2009, they had a son together named Kameron Carter. She discussed their relationship in a 2014 interview with NecoleBitchie.
“I met Wayne when I was 15 years old,” she said. “I’ve known him a very long time, and we were in a relationship that didn’t make it. We tried more than once to revive it, and we were engaged briefly years ago, but we eventually parted ways. People see the ‘Lil Wayne’ personality and think they know who he really is. My son’s father is an intelligent, loving, and lovable person who will always be a dear friend. And that will never change.”
Skylar Diggins
Skylar Diggins played point guard for Notre Dame, where she led the team to three consecutive Final Fours and two consecutive NCAA championships. She then went on to play with the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. While Wayne’s romantic involvement with Diggins was only a rumor, they were spotted together at the WNBA Finals in 2011.
Keri Hilson
Singer/actress Keri Hilson was allegedly involved with Wayne from 2008 to 2009. He appeared on her 2008 single “Turnin On Me” from the album In A Perfect World. They also hit the road together as part of the I Am Music tour in 2009.
Teairra Marí
While Teairra Marí has made headlines recently for her public feud with 50 Cent, the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood personality was also once linked to Wayne. The two reportedly dated from 2008 to 2011. She copped to the romance during a 2017 interview with Hollywood Unlocked, saying, “I’m not gon’ get into the experience, now. He is clean.”
Sarah Bellew (Vivan)
Atlanta media personality Sarah Bellew and Wayne reportedly hooked up between 2005 and 2009 and have one son together. Dwayne Carter III was born in October 2008 and recently celebrated his 12th birthday.
“I was young, I was like 19,” she said in a 2014 interview with Global Grind TV. “I was just in love… But I liked being behind the scenes, ’cause it was so new to me. All of it.”
Karrine Steffans
Confessions of a Video Vixen author and (yes) former rap video vixen/porn actress Karrine “Superhead” Steffans, who has appeared in videos by rappers such as JAY-Z, LL Cool J and Mystikal, had a child with Kool G Rap before moving on to Lil Wayne in the early 2000s. In December 2012, she told Madame Noire about their complicated union.
“Wayne and I have kept a relationship through my two husbands, his three kids, three additional baby mamas, three of his albums, three of my books, three of his arrests, one year in prison and three engagements on his part,” she said. “We are indestructible and I find it fascinating. I’m in constant contact with this person every day, every other day. He is a part of my being. I’m not me without him. He makes me very happy, [but] I couldn’t be with Wayne.
“I couldn’t live Wayne’s life… That relationship is everything to me, but it’s not what people think it is. It’s not sexual and it’s not financial. It is very spiritual and he’s like my battery pack. When I’m down, when I’m in a really rough space, he always pulls me out of that and he has no idea what he’s done for me.”
Farrah Franklin
Former Destiny’s Child singer Farrah Franklin dated Wayne in 2007 and 2008. But in a 2015 interview with VladTV, Franklin said she wasn’t prepared for Wayne’s “rock star” life and admitted she caught him cheating. They broke up not long after.
Tammy Torres
From 2009 to 2011, Wayne was reportedly linked to Tammy Torres, but she was also rumored to be hooking up with Drake. In 2010, while Wayne was locked up for eight months on a 2007 gun charge, Drake allegedly visited him in prison and revealed he’d slept with Torres.
After getting out of jail, Wayne dropped the song “How To Hate” and addresses the incident with lines such as, “Girl I was the one, that told you fuck them other niggas/And you still with fuck them other niggas/Most people learn from the bad things/I hope that you learn/And don’t crash and burn in the fast lane.”
Dana Lee
Wayne was rumored to be messing around with model Dana Lee in 2012. However, not many details are known about their time together.
Dhea Sodano
Although Wayne was with Milian from 2014 to 2015, he’d also been sporadically dating Dhea Sodano since 2011. Rumors they were engaged began to circulate in 2012, but they never walked down the aisle.
In 2018, the former Suede Restaurant & Lounge waitress and Scottsdale Arizona native made a since-deleted anniversary post on social media claiming they’d been together for seven years. According to iHeart Radio, they split in 2019.
And Finally … Denise Bidot
While not much is known about their new romance, Denise Bidot made it clear she was fully invested in Wayne. In her big reveal earlier this week, she is kissing Wayne and has a smile on her face.
Bidot is the first plus-size model to walk the runway for two straight-size brands during New York Fashion Week. She has modeled for clients such as Nordstrom, Forever21, Target, Old Navy, Lane Bryant, Levi’s, Macy’s. Currently, she can be seen as the face of Olay in a television ad for the company’s Wrinkle Correction Serum.
