Though basketball fans are still reeling from the postponement of the 2019-2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, a new documentary helmed by Kevin Durant and his agent Rich Kleiman titled Basketball County: In the Water will arrive on Showtime next Friday (May 15). D.C. native, IDK, will serve as the music supervisor, composer and executive producer for the project’s soundtrack.

Along with running the operations on the music side, IDK will also narrate the documentary, which will showcase the talents of hoops stars bred in the DMV area. Born and raised in Maryland, Durant, a two-time NBA champion, bloomed into a star athlete in the basketball ranks in the 2000s.

“This is a project that is near and dear to my heart,” said Durant in a press release. “Having grown up in Prince George’s County and with my family residing there today, it’s my life’s mission to not only give back through my foundation but continue to tell the amazing stories of those that have come from there. I’m really excited to be partnering with Showtime and for fans to hear from some of the world’s best players about what PG County means to them.”

As for IDK, he’s coming off an impressive 2019. He released his major-label debut album, Is He Real?, featuring Tyler The Creator, Pusha T, J.I.D., Burna Boy and more. Last month, he released the video for the album track “Lilly.”
