The Mediterranean Sea is going to rock this summer. Slipknot announced on Thursday (Feb. 20) that Anthrax, Behemoth, Sevendust, DevilDriver and Skindred are among the bands joining the heavy metal rockers for their inaugural cruise festival, Knotfest at Sea. Ho9909, Higher Power and Sleep Token are also set to perform, with more artists to be announced later.
Polish band Behemoth are currently touring with Slipknot, and expressed their excitement about the upcoming show at sea. “Our momentous tour with Slipknot comes to an end in a few days, and it’s been our biggest in Europe to date!” frontman Nergal said in a statement. “But I’m beyond excited that our comradeship with Slipknot ain’t over yet … We look forward to feasting again this summer!”
If you’re interested in doing some serious head banging on a cruise ship with fellow metalheads, you’ll need to fly to Barcelona first. The four-day cruise departs from Barcelona for Naples on Aug. 10, then returns to Naples on the 14th. In addition to the shows (Slipknot will be performing two sets during the cruise), the cruise will include a live Q&A with Slipknot, as well as a drum workshop with Slipknot’s Jay Weinberg, a tasting of the band’s whiskey, a bass clinic with Slipknot bassist Alessandro Venturella, and more.
Tickets for the cruise are already on sale at Knotfestatsea.com.
Slipknot released their latest album, We Are Not Your Kind, in August 2019.
