Lil Rodney C of the Funky 4 + 1 has been added to the ever-growing list of Hip Hop artists who have tested positive for COVID-19. On Monday morning (April 6), fellow Funky 4 + 1 pioneer MC Sha-Rock shared a Facebook post about his condition, putting an end to any speculation regarding his health.
“To all my friends and family,” she wrote. “I’ve received several messages and texts this morning in reference to Lil Rodney C from the Funky 4 Plus One More. I’d just spoken to him last month. Rodney has been hospitalized for the past week from the coronavirus outbreak. I’ve spoken to Rodney this morning. He wants me to let y’all know that he’s still in the hospital trying to recover. This is crazy.”
Sha-Rock also asked for some prayers for Angie Stone, who was previously married to Lil Rodney.
Shortly after Sha-Rock shared the news, Lil Rodney took to Instagram with a post of his own, expressing gratitude for the concern.
“Thank you everyone for the love & support,” he wrote. “Victory!”
Lil Rodney joins the list of artists who are battling the virus, including Fred The Godson and Geto Boys MC Scarface. The former revealed his diagnosis on Monday (April 6) as well with an Instagram post of himself in the hospital wearing a ventilator mask.
“I’m in here with this Covid-19 shit!” he wrote. “Please keep me in y’all prayers!!! #GodIsGreat.”
