On Monday (March. 16), Eminem zapped fans’ dreams regarding a new album when he was mistakenly trending on Twitter, courtesy of Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

Rubio’s blunder occurred when he referred to “Martial Law” as “Marshall Law” when speaking on businesses closing in light of the coronavirus. “Please stop spreading stupid rumors about marshall law. COMPLETELY FALSE,” he wrote on Twitter. “We will continue to see closings & restrictions on hours of non-essential businesses in certain cities & states. But that is NOT marshall law.”

Shortly after his hiccup, Rubio caught wind of his mistake and corrected himself. “I apologize for the typo,” he said. “Meant to type stupid rumors about martial law not marshall law.”

Unfortunately for Rubio and fans, Marshall Law exploded on Twitter and became a trending topic, with Shady admirers assuming that a new Eminem album — Shady’s first name is Marshall — was, in fact, on the way.

Before Em’s supporters were able to celebrate, he stumped everyone on Twitter with the cold hard truth. “Sorry guys… Marshall Law: not a thing,” he revealed.

Luckily for ardent Eminem stans, he already delivered a fistful of new music earlier this year when he released his Billboard 200 chart-topper Music To Be Murdered By. The album features appearances by Juice WRLD, Don Toliver, Black Thought, Royce Da 5’9′ and more.
