Doja Cat busted out all the filters on Monday (June 22) to congratulate Nicki Minaj on her second No. 1 single of 2020 after the rapper’s collab with Tekashi 6ix9ine, “Trollz,” hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100. (Minaj’s first No. 1, of course, was her Doja collab “Say So.”)
“Congratulations to Nicki Minaj on her No. 1, her second f—ing No. 1 of… two No. 1’s in one year… holy s–t,” Doja said in an Insta Live video in which she had a glasses filter over her sunglasses and a pencil-thin mustache filter to accent her dangling heart earrings.
“Fantastic f—ing work, beautiful,” Doja said as bills with her face on them rained down across the screen.
For her part, the “Say So” singer said she’s just down to keep making music, which she plans on doing. Doja also said that the leaked version of the “Like That” video is not the completed one and that the real one, which is “a lot different,” is coming out soon.
“Trollz” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 song charts this week, marking the first chart-topper for candy-colored rapper 6ix9ine and the second for Minaj. To celebrate the occasion, Minaj shared a one-minute video on Twitter on Monday (June 22) to thank her Barbz for their support.
“Congratulations Barbz, y’all did this with no playlisting and no radio, and it’s just not happening in 2020,” she explained. “All the records on the top of the chart right now are doing that with heavy playlisting and heavy radio. So, for us to do that, debuting, that’s insane. I love you guys so much. We just did the highest pure sales of the year, of every song released, and you can’t buy that. That’s fan love.”
