Rapper Craig Mack died unexpectedly Tuesday (March 13) at the age 46 at a South Carolina hospital due to heart failure after battling an undisclosed illness, according to the New York Daily News. Many in the hip-hop community have shared sincere thoughts in mourning the untimely loss the “Flava in Ya Ear” artist throughout the day. Diddy added a heartfelt message his own on social media, honoring the first Bad Boy signee on Tuesday afternoon.
“Craig Mack, you were the first artist to release music on Bad Boy and gave us our first hit,” he tweeted. “You always followed your heart and you had an energy that was out this world. You believed in me and you believed in Bad Boy. I will never forget what you did for hip-hop.”
The Bad Boy Entertainment CEO continued to express his admiration for the Project: Funk Da World artist, “You inspired me and will continue to inspire us. We will always love you. #RIPCraigMack #BadBoy4Life,” Diddy concluded.
Producer Erick Sermon revealed on Twitter early Tuesday that he was just finishing up working on Craig's album. “I'm devastated over the news Craig Mack.. We just finishing up his new album.. smh.. Rest in Power Craig,” he posted.
