DaBaby dropped his latest video for the DJ Kid-produced track “Shut Up” on Thursday (February 6) as an answer to all the people trying to downplay his success.
The video follows a day-in-the-life of DaBaby as he spends Super Bowl LIV weekend performing 14 shows. The clip features the “Bop” rapper boasting about his newfound success, while sarcastically repeating what haters and internet trolls have said about him.
Amongst all the concert footage, DaBaby interacts with Diddy as he spouts words of wisdom to the rising rap star.
DaBaby announced the surprise video on Thursday (February 6) with an Instagram post featuring a snippet of the Rico Did It-directed video.
“UH OH,” he captioned the post. “‘SHUT UP’ (Official Video) OUT NOW ON YOUTUBE. Directed By my brudda: @ricodidit / @reelgoats. Produced By my lil brudda : @iamdjkid. 2020 I gave you 36 days to kick it w/ these other niggas. Now you mine for the rest of the year. #BABY.”
DaBaby dropping two albums back-to-back last year — Baby On Baby and Kirk.
As his music tops the charts, the “Suge” rapper is simultaneously being sued by a concert promoter who claims he ad his entourage attacked him over a performance fee at a Miami nightclub. DaBaby was arrested last month on battery charges and ultimately bonded out.
