Indigo, CA – Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was expected to take place over two weekends in April but according to Variety, the annual music event has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella, is currently informing artists’ agents in an effort to figure out who will be available on consecutive weekends beginning October 9. While organizers haven’t released an official statement yet, insiders reportedly said the decision was “inevitable.”

Events are being canceled all over the world as the virus continues to spread. SXSW in Austin, Texas was canceled for the first time in 34 years shortly after artists such as Beastie Boys, Ozzy Osbourne and Nine Inch Nails’ frontman Trent Reznor pulled out.
