Brittany Howard will kick off one of Brooklyn's most beloved live music traditions this summer when she launches BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!'s 2020 season with a free show.

The Alabama Shakes frontwoman — who is already set to play Bonnaroo, Primavera Sound, Shaky Knees, Boston Calling, High Water and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage festival in the coming months — is set to return to Brooklyn on June 9, where she'll take the stage at the Prospect Park bandshell.

Now 42 years into its run, Celebrate Brooklyn! offers a packed slate of live entertainment, with several free programs, throughout the summer that draw 200,000 concertgoers to Park Slope every summer.

Jaime, Howard's debut solo effort, saw its release in 2019; its single, "Stay High," earned Howard her first No. 1 solo song on Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs airplay chart. She spent the rest of the year winning crowds over with her soulful and eclectic approach to its songs on festival stages across the country, and the album was named one of Billboard's best albums of the year shortly thereafter.

Celebrate Brooklyn! will announce the rest of its summer offerings in May.
