Boosie Badazz evidently wants NFL quarterback Drew Brees kicked off the New Orleans Saints team as soon as possible. On Thursday (June 4), the Baton Rouge-bred rapper renounced his previous support for the Brees-led team Instagram.
He shared a photo of Brees and his wife Brittany all smiles as he poses with Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump.
“DAM @drewbrees U SHOWED YO TRUE COLORS U LET ME DOWN BRO THE BLACK COMMUNITY IS A BIG PART OF YOUR CAREER MF,” he wrote in all caps. “LOOK LIKE IM GOING FOR THE FALCONS WHEN THEY PLAY SAINTS. I STILL AINT PUT GUCCI BACK ON YET SO AS LONG AS YOU QUARTERBACK IM NOT SUPPORTING THE SAINTS.
“u were so happy on this pic. I know trump was giving your wife that EYE. check her dm he’s probably n it. TRADE HIM TRADE HIM TRADE HIM TRADE HIM TRADE HIM.”
Brees came under fire earlier this week after he made some polarizing comments regarding the George Floyd protests that have erupted across the country. During an interview with Yahoo Finance, Brees said, he would “never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America.”
Killer Mike quickly took Brees to task, pointing out the hypocrisy behind his statement while appearing on ESPN’s Jalen & Jacoby.
“I would like to know what he considers disrespect because when I travel and we perform in Germany, I never see a Nazi flag,” the Run The Jewels MC said. “I don’t see streets named for Nazis because Nazis are a part of history that Germany understands was a cancer and corrupt and they’ve ridden themselves of [it].
“Drew Brees plays in the Deep South. As we travel through the South, we see the Confederate flag everywhere abounds. So if you’re gonna tell me about the flag and disrespecting the American flag, the fact that you live in a region that they still fly the rebel flag of the Confederate flag and you don’t adamantly speak against that on a regular basis just tells me you’re protecting the way of life or what you think is right.”
Brees has since apologized for his statement, writing, “I know there’s not much that I can say that would make things any better right now, but I just want you to see in my eyes how sorry I am for the comments that I made. I know that it hurt many people, especially friends, teammates, former teammates, loved ones, people that I care and respect deeply. That was never my intention.”
