If you weren't able to get out your house and join in on the Mardi Gras celebrations this week, don't sweat it. New Orleans rapper Big Freedia kicked f the Mardi Gras season with a new track that harnessed all the Fat Tuesday energy. The NOLA bounce artist released “Best Beeleevah” a new playlist titled “The Sound Bounce” on Spotify.

The record is carried by a flip the classic 1961 Harry Belafonte record “Jump in the Line (Shake, Señora).” As the kettle drum drops a breezy melody, Freedia pours in a mix explosive drums and rampant vocals to incorporate that high-octane New Orleans bounce sound. The lyrics  “Jump in the Line” swerve through the record amid a flurry warped chants and DJ scratches.

“Best Beeleevah” is the third record Big Freedia has hopped on this year, also collaborating with Ms. Tee for the records “Side Ho” and “Good Times.” The NOLA native also looks forward to a pretty busy 2018 as Freedia is headed across the pond for a European tour in the spring.
