What do you do when your new album gets panned by critics? Get right back in the studio, course.
Over the weekend, Eminem was spotted in a Detroit studio with Dr. Dre and Mike WiLL Made-It, courtesy the former's Instagram Story.
WiLL, who has recently teased collaborations with JAY-Z, Swae Lee, YG and Junior Reid, creatively captioned the post using Eminem and Kendrick Lamar—both protégées Dr. Dre—puns. “I ONLY NEED 1 SHOT I WONT MISS MY CHANCE TO BLOW, CAUSE OPPORTUNITY COMES ONCE N A LIFETIME,” he wrote.
Dr. Dre had a rather quiet 2017, and Eminem's was disappointing, to say the least, but Mike WiLL made his presence felt, connecting with Lamar for three huge records on the MC's GRAMMY-nominated album DAMN. (“HUMBLE.,” “DNA.” and “XXX.”―releasing his very own album, Ransom 2, producing the biggest hit Yo Gotti's career with “Rake It Up,” and helping Ty Dolla $ign turn out one the best singles the year in “Dawsin's Breek.”
If anyone can help the masses forget about a line like “Your booty is heavy duty like diarrhea,” it's Dr. Dre and Mike WiLL. Right?
DJBooth has reached out to Mike WiLL for further details on his work with the Marshall and Andre.
