Steven Tyler celebrates his 72nd birthday Thursday (March 26), and the Aerosmith frontman received a flood of sweet messages — with one that cut right through.
For the occasion, the Godfather of Shock Rock Alice Cooper recorded himself flinging knives at a printed picture of Tyler’s face while his own “Go to Hell” track plays in the background. Throwing knives is the shock rocker’s well-known pre-show ritual, and his precision only zeroes in on his affection for Tyler.
“Please help me wish a very happy birthday to the Demon of Screamin’ – @IamStevenT!” Cooper captioned the 20-second clip on Twitter.
The 72-year-old birthday boy retweeted his idiosyncratic well wishes, as well as those sent from Slash, Def Leppard, Orianthi, Bon Jovi‘s lead guitarist Phil X and more fellow rock stars.
