Daphni Returns With Surprise New EP ‘hav u a sec’

Electronic music producer Dan Snaith, widely recognized for his work as Daphni, has maintained an impressive creative pace this year. Following the release of his latest album Butterfly, Snaith has returned with a surprise new EP titled hav u a sec. The project features the title track—which fans may recognize from his live sets at London’s Corsica Studios earlier this February—alongside two previously unreleased songs, “Tally” and “Forward.”

The release of hav u a sec marks a swift follow-up to his recent full-length project. In a statement shared via social media, Dan Snaith explained the motivation behind the sudden drop: “I know Butterfly only came out a few months ago, but I made this one after the album was already finished and wanted to get it out because it’s been such a great vibe playing it for you at shows.”

hav u a sec’ by Daphni is out today together with two other tracks (‘Tally’ and ‘Forward’ on a little ep) i know Butterfly only came out a few months ago but i made this one after the album was already finished and wanted to get it out because it’s been such a great vibe playing it for you at shows. I think I played it at Corsica first maybe? this is my friend’s dog but he looks just like my dog Saxon from when I was a kid – a brown and white border collie.

The three-track collection showcases a vibrant, iridescent soundscape that continues to push the boundaries of Snaith’s electronic moniker. While the title track serves as the centerpiece, listeners will likely find “Tally” and “Forward” to be equally compelling additions to his catalog. The EP is available now, offering a fresh dose of dance-floor-ready energy from one of the genre’s most prolific artists.
